Boston Red Sox Give Suspended Player’s Salary To A Group Supporting The Surgical Mutilation Of Minors
The Boston Red Sox are giving the suspension salary of one of their players to a radical LGBT group that supports the chemical and surgical mutilation of minors.
On Monday, the organization announced the suspension of Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, who was caught on a hot mic using a slur often directed at gay people to describe a heckler in the audience. The incident occurred during the Red Sox’s Sunday matchup against the Houston Astros.
Duran has since apologized for his comments.
In addition to being suspended for the team’s Monday and Tuesday games against the Texas Rangers, Duran’s salary for those two games was stripped by the Red Sox and given to the pro-LGBT organization known as PFLAG. That two-game salary amounts to $8,172, according to ESPN.
What many pearl-clutching “journalists” will not disclose, however, is that PFLAG is an extreme LGBT advocacy group that supports the “transing” of children. The organization has openly opposed legislation protecting minors from these harmful and often irreversible procedures.
Last year, for example, PFLAG National filed a lawsuit against North Carolina after the Tarheel State’s Republican-controlled general assembly passed a bill making it unlawful for medical professionals to “perform a surgical gender transition procedure on a minor or to prescribe, provide, or dispense puberty-blocking drugs or cross-sex hormones to a minor.” Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed the measure but was overridden by the legislature.
Last month, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons announced its opposition to what leftists dishonestly refer to as “gender affirming care.” According to City Journal, the medical organization recognized there is “considerable uncertainty as to the long-term efficacy for the use of chest and genital surgical interventions” and that “the existing evidence base is viewed as low quality/low certainty.”
PFLAG is also opposed to efforts to keep men out of women’s sports. On its website, the group claims that “[r]aising alarms about unfair advantages” or concerns about locker room safety “are all about fear mongering and have nothing to do with kids.”
Though initially reached for comment, the Boston Red Sox’s Coordinator for Baseball Communications and Media Relations Raleigh Clark did not respond by deadline when pressed by The Federalist on whether the organization feels it is appropriate to donate Duran’s two-game suspension salary to an organization (PFLAG) that supports the chemical and surgical mutilation of minors. Nor did he respond when asked if the Boston Red Sox support such procedures being conducted on children.
The Red Sox’s capitulation to the rainbow mob is hardly the first time leftist politics have infected Major League Baseball (MLB).
Last year, the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted an anti-Christian drag group for its June “pride night.” After initially disinviting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence due to public backlash, the Dodgers caved to leftist demands, re-inviting the group and groveling for forgiveness.
Meanwhile, MLB parroted Democrat lies when attacking Georgia’s 2021 election integrity law. Not only did Commissioner Rob Manfred falsely claim the bill created “restrictions to the ballot box,” but the league also pulled its All-Star operations out of Atlanta in protest, potentially costing the state upwards of $100 million in revenue.
MLB announced earlier this year its plans to move its All-Star festivities back to Atlanta but did not apologize for its dishonest lies and politically motivated actions.
