Three Years Later, Democrats Can’t Obfuscate Kamala Harris’ Role In Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal

As America recognizes the three-year anniversary of the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal this week, regime-approved media are only concerned about one thing — and that’s trying to muddle Vice President Kamala Harris’ role in the disastrous pullout.

On Monday, the Associated Press once again showed its true colors as a Democrat propaganda outlet by running an article titled, “Trump tries to connect Harris to the chaotic Afghanistan War withdrawal on anniversary of attack,” in which author Adriana Gomez Licon attempted to obfuscate Harris’ role in the failed exit that got 13 U.S. service members killed.

“Former President Donald Trump on Monday is tying Vice President Kamala Harris to the chaotic Afghanistan War withdrawal on the third anniversary of the suicide bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members,” Gomez Licon wrote, citing a Monday Truth Social post from Trump, in which he referred to the pullout as “the most EMBARRASSING moment in the history of our Country.”

Contrary to the dishonest picture painted by the AP, Trump doesn’t have to “tr[y]” to connect Harris to the withdrawal. She’s Biden’s vice president and, as previously reported by the media, was heavily involved in overseeing the administration’s exit from the region.

Shortly after the White House announced in spring 2021 its plans to depart Afghanistan, Harris confirmed to CNN’s Dana Bash that, as Politico described, “she was the last person in the room” before Biden made the decision.

“This is a president who has an extraordinary amount of courage,” Harris said. “He is someone, who I have seen over and over again, make decisions based on what he truly believes … is the right thing to do.”

In August 2021, amid the ongoing withdrawal, the Los Angeles Times reported that Harris “has been, at least visually, front and center as President Biden has overseen America’s retreat from Afghanistan.” The article detailed her presence alongside Biden during key security briefings on the exit, and ultimately acknowledged that “the execution of the withdrawal will also be added to Harris’ resume, underscoring the complex challenge she faces as Biden’s understudy during what is arguably the first crisis of his presidency.”

Even the Washington Post admits in an Aug. 7 article that “Harris’s role behind the scenes in one of the most consequential and controversial episodes of Biden’s presidency shows how she has sought to position herself as a vice president deeply involved in key moments …” However, the outlet nonetheless attempted to run cover for Harris’s involvement in the administration’s withdrawal and distance her from the botched exit, painting “her influence” in the decision-making process as “unclear.”

“One former senior military official involved in the deliberations said that Harris asked sharp questions ‘like a district attorney’ during interagency meetings early in 2021 but revealed little about what she was thinking on the issue,” the piece reads.

“With Harris now supplanting Biden atop the Democratic ticket, it remains to be seen if she will face similar conservative blowback over her nebulous role in the decision to pull the military from Afghanistan,” the piece continues.

Much like their efforts to whitewash her role as the border czar and downplay her support for communist-style price controls, legacy media’s bid to sanitize Harris’ role in the administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal is just another case study exemplifying Democrats’ war on truth.

For these so-called “journalists,” Harris’ involvement in the failed decision-making that got 13 U.S. troops killed is irrelevant. What matters most is ensuring a Democrat victory this November and keeping the current regime in power at all costs.
