Russia-Ukraine war: Last Frontline update as of September 22:

On Sunday, September 22, 121 combat engagements took place in the frontline between the beginning of the day and the evening. Most of them were registered in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Kupiansk sectors, but the enemy also became more active in the Orikhiv sector, reports the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The General Staff noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are making efforts “to disrupt the implementation of Russian invaders’ offensive plans.”
“Our soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the enemy, depleting their combat potential,” the military report says.

Russian shelling

Since the beginning of this day, the Russian invaders have launched one missile (2 rockets), 52 air strikes (in particular, the 71 glide bombs used), and 625 kamikaze strikes.

In addition, the enemy fired more than 3,900 times at the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

Situation at the front

In the Kharkiv direction, the invaders unsuccessfully stormed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Vovchansk 4 times, and another battle is currently underway.

“According to available information, the enemy has lost more than 40 servicemen killed and wounded in this area today,” the General Staff said.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed an enemy anti-tank vehicle, two vehicles, and 37 drones in this area of the frontline, and damaged a tank, an armored combat vehicle, four artillery systems, and an enemy vehicle.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian Armed Forces fortifications 14 times near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhliakivka, Lozova, and Stelmakhivka. Four firefights are still ongoing in the areas of Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova, and Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently repelling 5 enemy attacks near Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka. Moreover, 7 assault actions were stopped near Cherneshchyna, Druzheliubivka, Novosadove, and Dibrova during the day.

In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces stopped the enemy’s attempt to improve the tactical situation near Vyimka, and the Russians suffered losses. Another battle in this location is ongoing, the General Staff reported.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 7 enemy attempts to advance near Kalynivka, Klishchiivka, Hryhorivka, and Stupochky failed. Two battles are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked 6 times in the areas of Dachne, Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Nelipivka.

“Enemy bombers and attack aircraft were active. Fighting continues in two locations – the enemy is putting pressure, trying to advance in the areas of Nelipivka and Shcherbynivka,” the military said in a statement.

Russians are intensifying their attacks in the Pokrovsk direction – the enemy conducted a total of 27 assault and offensive actions there during the day. —>READ MORE HERE

A total of 121 combat clashes have occurred on the battlefield in Ukraine with the situation in the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk sectors being the hottest.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in operational update as of 22:00, September 22, 2024 on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.

“Since the beginning of the day, there have been 121 combat clashes, the enemy has launched one missile strike (using two missiles), 52 air strikes (using 71 glide bombs) and 625 kamikaze drone strikes, carried out more than 3,900 attacks on the positions of our forces,” the post reads.

According to the General Staff, in the Kharkiv sector, Russian terrorists unsuccessfully stormed the Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk four times. One battle is still going on. According to available information, the enemy has lost more than 40 personnel killed and wounded in this sector today. The Ukrainian defenders destroyed the enemy’s anti-tank vehicle, two motor vehicles and 37 UAVs; also, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, four artillery systems and a car were damaged.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian fortifications 14 times near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhliakivka, Lozova and Stelmakhivka. Currently, four clashes are ongoing near Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova and Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman sector, five enemy attacks have been repelled by the Ukrainian soldiers near Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka. Throughout the day, seven enemy assaults were stopped near Cherneshchyna, Druzheliubivka, Novosadove, and Dibrova.

In the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian forces disrupted the enemy’s attempt to improve their tactical position near Vyimka. The invaders suffered losses. One battle is still underway.

In the Kramatorsk sector, seven attempts by the invaders to advance near Kalynivka, Klishchiivka, Hryhorivka, and Stupochky were unsuccessful. Two clashes are still going on.

In the Toretsk sector, the invaders launched six attacks at the Ukrainian positions near Dachne, Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Nelipivka. The enemy used bomber and fighting aircraft.
