Battleground State with Only 6 Electoral Votes Poised to Deliver ‘Big Blow’ to Harris and Pave Trump’s Path to Victory:
Although the purple state of Nevada boasts just six electoral votes, it could deliver a “big blow” to Vice President Kamala Harris and pave a path to victory for former President Donald Trump, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Although Nevada has consistently voted blue since 2008, the race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is tightening in the swing state, which could prove damaging for the Harris campaign. Although Nevada’s electoral weight is smaller compared to other battlegrounds, the Silver State’s unique economy and demographic makeup could be a deciding factor for which candidate takes the White House, experts told the DCNF.
“There are very few paths to victory that do not involve Nevada,” Dheeraj Chand, a Democratic strategist, told the DCNF.
“It would be a big blow to her when we take those electoral votes,” McLaughlin told the DCNF.
“One of the particularly interesting things about it is it’s the only state that President Trump lost twice,” Jeremy Hughes, a GOP strategist based in Nevada, told the DCNF. “Now, he has a chance to flip it this cycle.”
The polling between Trump and Harris has been tight, with the Republican nominee trailing the Vice President by just 1.4 points, according to RealClearPolling averages. The most recent Hill/Emerson poll has put the two neck and neck at 48%, while Harris boasts just a one point lead over Trump according to a recent American Greatness poll.
The swing state has gone blue for nearly two decades, but by slim margins. In Nevada, both former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden defeated Trump by 2.4 points in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
“Republicans were able to win a gubernatorial election, which I would say, outside of Brian Kemp, was maybe the bright spot for Republicans on election night [in 2022],” Hughes told the DCNF. “So it has moved a little to the right. Voter registration in the state has also moved significantly. In fact, I think more Republicans than Democrats will vote in this election.”
Nevada currently has two Democratic Senators, Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto, as well as a Republican governor, Joe Lombardo. Of the 17 counties across the state, 15 of them have voted Republican in the last two presidential elections. —>READ MORE HERE
Donald Trump Leading Kamala Harris in Five of Seven Swing States: Poll:
Donald Trump is leading Kamala Harris in five of the seven key swing states which will prove vital in determining who wins the election, according to a poll.
A survey of likely voters in battleground states from AtlasIntel found that Trump is ahead in Michigan (50.6 percent to 47.2) and Pennsylvania (51 percent to 48.1).
AtlasIntel said the former president also has a “narrow” advantage in the toss-up states of Arizona (49.8 percent to 48.6), Georgia (49.6 percent to 49) and Wisconsin (49.7 percent to 48.2). Harris is leading in North Carolina (50.5 percent to 48.1) and Nevada (50.5 percent to 47.7).
AtlasIntel was named the most accurate polling group of the 2020 presidential election by 538. Trump would win the 2024 race with 290 Electoral College votes if the Republican wins all five battleground states he currently leads in their polling, with Harris on 248.
The AtlastIntel polls were conducted between September 20-25 with a margin or error of between 2-3 percentage points.
Reacting to the poll results, a Trump spokesperson told Newsweek: “Americans are sick and tired of Kamala Harris and her failed policies that have led to skyrocketing inflation, an out-of-control border- and rampant crime that terrorizes communities. She is weak, failed, and dangerously liberal, and the American people know a fraud when they see one.”
Newsweek has contacted the Harris campaign team for comment via email.
The AtlasIntel polling shows that Trump would win two of the so-called “blue wall” battleground states that are crucial to Harris.
Harris only needs to win the three blue wall swing states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan to give her the required 270 Electoral College votes to win the election, barring any shock results elsewhere. Harris would also need to win the Electoral College in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District in this scenario, with polls suggesting she is on course to do so. —>READ MORE HERE
