On Oct. 7 anniversary: Hamas rockets slam into central Israel
Hamas fired five rockets at central Israel from Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, the IDF said on Monday, following the rocket sirens that sounded in the area starting at 11:01 a.m. local time.
The military noted that impacts had been identified.
Shortly after the alerts, Magen David Adom said its paramedics were providing medical care and transferring to the Shamir Medical Center two women in their 30s who sustained light wounds from shrapnel.
MDA added its paramedics were treating several people who were suffering from anxiety and had been injured while running to safer rooms.
Chabad reported there had been a direct hit in Kfar Chabad.
Police later said forces were operating at the scene where shrapnel from an interceptor had impacted the Holon area.
Hamas claims responsibility
Shortly after the sirens blared, Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades took responsibility on the terror group’s official Telegram channel, claiming it had fired rockets “deep inside” Israeli territory.
This comes amid the one-year commemoration of the October 7 massacre perpetrated by Hamas in southern Israel.
