There were 107 combat engagements in the frontline, most of them in the Pokrovsk sector. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled numerous enemy attacks in various sectors, including Kupyansk, Lyman, Kramatorsk and others.

In the Kharkiv sector , the enemy made two unsuccessful assaults near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

In the Kupyansk sector , the occupants attacked near Stelmakhivka, Dzherelne, Vyshneve, Zelenyi Hai, Pishchane and Lozova. Currently, two firefights are still ongoing.

In the Liman sector , the militants fired 14 times near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Makiivka, Petropavlivka, Katerynivka, Lyman Pershyi and Terny. At the moment, 4 battles are ongoing.

In the Northern sector , terrorists unsuccessfully stormed twice near Verkhnekamianske and Pereyizne.

In the Kramatorsk sector , the enemy stormed near Chasovyi Yar with the support of aviation.

In the Toretsk sector , an enemy assault on positions near Toretsk is currently underway with the support of aviation.

In the Pokrovsk sector , the enemy fired 35 times in the areas of Sukhoi Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Krasniy Yar, Promin, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Selydove and Mykhailivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 27 attacks. Eight attacks are still ongoing. —>READ MORE HERE

Russia-Ukraine war: LAST Frontline update as of October 21

Since the start of the day, as of 22:00 on October 21, 107 battles have occurred along the front lines. The heaviest fighting has been recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, according to the evening briefing from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Enemy losses

The General Staff noted that today, Russian forces launched two missile strikes and 68 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, dropping 113 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy deployed over 683 kamikaze drones and conducted more than three thousand shellings of Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to storm our units’ positions twice near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army conducted offensive actions near Stelmakhivka, Dzherelne, Vyshneve, Zelenyi Hai, Pishchane, and Lozova. Ukrainian defenders halted two enemy attacks, while two more clashes are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 14 attacks on the Defense Forces’ positions near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Makiivka, Petropavlivka, Katerynivka, Lyman Pershyi, and Terni. Four clashes are still taking place.

In the Siversk direction, our defenders repelled two assaults by the Russian forces toward Verkhnokamianske and Pereizne, with the enemy achieving no success.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, stormed our positions near Chasiv Yar. The situation is under control.

In the Toretsk direction, an assault on the positions of Ukrainian units near the town of Toretsk is currently ongoing, also supported by aviation.

Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has attacked 35 times in the areas of Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhivka, Myrolyubivka, Krasnyi Yar, Promin, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Selydove, and Mykhailivka.
