GOP Lawmakers Demand Immigration Services Fire Worker Who Defended Migrants On Social Media; ‘Utter betrayal’: New Report Reveals DHS Official Used Social Media to Promote Illegal Immigration
GOP lawmakers demand Immigration Services fire worker who defended migrants on social media:
A group of Republican lawmakers led by Rep. Nancy Mace is demanding US Citizenship and Immigration Services fire an employee who cut videos and made other social media posts praising illegal immigrants.
Mace (R-SC) and three other Republican reps alleged that posts from Wilson Osorio, an associate counsel at USCIS, encouraged illegal immigrants to flout US laws.
“Wilson Osorio, has seen fit to use YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to encourage aliens from Latin America to come to the United States illegally—putting American citizens as well as aliens who seek to enter our country illegally at risk,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to USCIS director Ur Jaddou Tuesday.
A recent report from conservative opposition research firm American Accountability Foundation cited a slew of examples in which Osorio made numerous social media posts puffing up migrants. Fox News first reported AAF’s findings.
“Undocumented immigrants play an important role in US infrastructure,” one TikTok post from Osorio unearthed by AAF said, citing a family from El Salvador. “I was also told that despite not having papers, they pay their taxes to Uncle Sam.”
Osorio’s social media posts of that nature began around July, but his accounts have since been switched to private.
“The American Dream is alive and well. This is the story of a Honduran immigrant who entered the United States illegally [around] 20 years ago. With hard work and dedication, he is now the owner of an expanding restaurant which brings in over $1 million in sales,” another social media post he made on his Instagram said, per a screenshot from AAF.
One video description written in Spanish from Ososrio translated to: “In the US you work hard for your money but crossing the border was worth it. Thanks to my work here, I built a house in Honduras and I will soon be moving back.”
Mace was joined in the demand for his termination by Reps. Andy Harris (R-Md.), Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Jeff Duncan (R-SC). —>READ MORE HERE
‘Utter betrayal’: New report reveals DHS official used social media to promote illegal immigratio:
‘DHS Watchlist’ organizer Tom Jones says the administrative state is riddled with ‘radicals’
An official at the Department of Homeland Security has been promoting illegal immigration into the U.S., using platforms like YouTube and TikTok to provide advice to border crossers, according to a new report by a conservative organization.
Wilson Osorio is listed online as an associate counsel with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service’s (USCIS) Office of the Chief Counsel. Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and USCIS to confirm his employment and for comment on the report.
The American Accountability Foundation published the report, and the group’s president, Thomas Jones, spoke with Fox News Digital about the endeavor, saying it is critical for conservatives to remove far-left career policymakers.
“What this ends up showing us is that these are people who are not unbiased, not people who are objective. These are people who have an agenda. And look, that’s fine. You can have an agenda, but we can’t expect those people to come into a conservative administration and say, well, on January 19th I was working on a policy I love on finding out how we can get as many migrants as possible into the United States, and then on January 22nd say, you know what I’m going to do? I’m gonna come up with the most effective policy to deport all of those people I brought into the country.”
If people believe that that’s how these people are gonna behave, they’re just out of touch with how the administrative state really works.”
After Fox contacted the DHS and USCIS about Osorio, YouTube and TikTok accounts that appeared to belong to him were made private and his LinkedIn profile appeared to have been removed.
“Osorio uses his TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram channels to post video content, mostly of conversations with illegal immigrants, where he asks the individuals to tell those watching how much money they make, how they came to the United States, and how wonderful it is to illegally enter and settle in the U.S.,” the report says.
Osorio began posting in July and has posted dozens of videos to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, the report says. In one video, he purportedly shows an illegal immigrant who now owns a restaurant.
“The American Dream is alive and well. This is the story of a Honduran immigrant who entered the United States illegally ~20 years ago. With hard work and dedication, he is now the owner of an expanding restaurant which brings in over $1 million in sales,” his Instagram description said. —>READ MORE HERE
