Two wounded by Hezbollah rocket as Israel anticipates potential Lebanon ceasefire
Two people were wounded following several direct rocket hits in Nahariya, Magen David Adom reported on Monday night.
Two of the wounded were listed as a woman in her 70s in severe condition and a man in his 80s in light condition with an ear wound, MDA reported. Several people are also being treated for anxiety.
The mayor of Nahariya, Ronen Marli, told the city’s residents, “Residents of Nahariya, I ask you, we’ve just had a difficult night and it’s only starting. Another barrage, we have a direct hit on a building, one seriously injured, two others lightly injured, and several suffering from anxiety. They’ve been evacuated, but I beg you, please follow the Home Front Command’s instructions.
“If you have no reason to be outside tomorrow and in the next 48 hours, don’t go outside! It will be tough, whether or not there is a ceasefire, these are complex days! If you must go outside and have an urgent matter to attend to – I ask you to follow the Home Front Command’s instructions even on the street. Sleep in protected rooms. If you must sleep in a shelter – sleep there. I hope these days pass as best as possible. Please stick to the Home Front Command’s guidelines – they save lives! It will be hard, but stick to the instructions.”
Initially, Israeli media reported a direct hit in the city, which followed the alerts triggered in the Western Galilee area. The news of the hit came only shortly after the IDF confirmed ten rockets crossing from Lebanon were identified targeting the Western Galilee.
Several suffering from anxiety
Some of the rockets were intercepted, the military confirmed.
MDA spokesperson Zaki Heller reported, “MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical treatment to two wounded individuals: one in severe condition, one in mild condition, as well as several individuals suffering from anxiety.”
This is a developing story.
