After security forces remove illegal West Bank structures, settlers, officers clash
Two Border police officers were wounded in the West Bank after clashes ensued between Israeli civilians and security forces during an overnight operation to remove illegal Israeli structures in the area, the military said on Wednesday.
Earlier, the Civil Administration announced that Israeli security forces operated to remove three illegal structures built on private Palestinian land near Nablus in the West Bank.
One of the structures that was removed reportedly served as a study hall, and those present were asked to vacate it in advance.
According to the IDF, civilians later entered the nearby village of Beit Furik in the vicinity of Nablus, torching assets and throwing rocks in the area.
In the Huwara area, violent rioting erupted, while in the Rujeib area, some 20 Israelis clashed with the security forces. The military reported that it had arrested a number of Israeli citizens following the events.
