Ukrainian Defense Forces repel 42 attacks of Russian invaders in Kursk region – General Staff

Over the last day, 183 combat engagements took place in various frontline areas. The occupants launched one missile attack, 40 air strikes and used 632 kamikaze drones on the territory of Ukraine.

There were 183 combat engagements in the frontline. Ukrainian defenders continue to resolutely repel the enemy’s attempts to advance into the depths of our territory, inflicting fire damage. In the Kursk region, the Defense Forces repelled 42 attacks by Russian invaders. This is stated in the report of the General Staff as of 22.00 on 17.12.2024, UNN reports.

The Russian invaders launched one missile attack on the territory of Ukraine using four missiles, 40 air strikes, and dropped 53 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they engaged 632 kamikaze drones and fired more than three and a half thousand rounds at the positions of our troops and populated areas,

In Kharkiv sector , the enemy stormed the positions of our units near Vovchansk, and the Defense Forces successfully repelled the occupiers’ attempt to advance. In addition, the enemy launched air strikes with unguided missiles near the village of Vovchansky Khutory.

In the Kupyansk sector , the enemy conducted three offensives near Petropavlivka and Lozova. One firefight is still ongoing.

With the support of aviation in the Liman sector , Russian invaders stormed the positions of the Defense Forces 21 times near Zelenyi Hai, Terny, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka and Serebryansky forest. Three firefights are still ongoing. At the same time, the enemy bombed near the settlements of Serhiivka, Terny and Ivanivka, dropping a total of seven guided aerial bombs.

In the Siversk sector , the enemy attacked the localities of Hryhorivka, Bilohorivka, Siversk and Verkhnekamianske. Three out of nine combat engagements are currently incomplete. The invaders’ aviation struck with 11 guided bombs at the settlements of Fedorivka, Riznykivka, Vyymka and Serebryanka.

Since the beginning of the day in the Kramatorsk sector , the enemy attacked in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Stupochky, three attempts by Russians to push our defenders from their positions failed. In addition, the enemy dropped six guided aerial bombs near Pazeno and Vasyukivka.

With the support of aviation in the Lyman direction, the Russian invaders stormed the positions of the Defense Forces 21 times in the vicinity of Green Grove, Terni, Novoehorivka, Makiivka, and Serebryansky Forest. So far, three clashes are ongoing. At the same time, the enemy bombarded the villages of Serhiyivka, Terny, and Ivanivka, dropping a total of seven guided aerial bombs.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked the settlements of Hryhorivka, Belogorivka, Siversk and Verkhnokamianske. Three of the nine military clashes are currently unfinished. The aggressor aviation struck 11 guided bombs on the settlements of Fedorivka, Riznyivka, Vyimka and Serebryanka.

Since the beginning of the day, in the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked in the Chasovoy Yar and Stupochky areas, three attempts by the Russians to dislodge our defenders from their occupied positions were unsuccessful. In addition, the enemy dropped six guided aerial bombs near Pazeno and Vasyukivka.

Seven clashes took place in the Toretsk direction today. The enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Toretsk. Currently, two clashes are ongoing. In the area of Romanivka, the invaders dropped one aerial bomb.

In the Pokrovsky direction , since the beginning of this day, the enemy attacked 35 times in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Promeny, Lysivka, Dachensky, Novy Trud, Novovasylivka, Pischany, Novoolenyvka, Novopustinka, Chumatsky, Ukrainka, Sukhoi Yar, and Novoelizavetivka.
