INVADER NEWS: Cops Identify NJ Woman as Mystery Straphanger Torched to Death in Horrific NYC Subway Attack; Eric Adams Pushes Feds to Charge Migrant Who Torched Woman to Death On NYC Subway — in Sign He’s Opening Up Sanctuary City to Trump Admin

Cops identify NJ woman as mystery straphanger torched to death in horrific NYC subway attack:

The straphanger who was burned to death on a Brooklyn train has been identified as a New Jersey woman, police announced Tuesday — more than a week after the horrific attack.

The charred body of Debrina Kawam, 57, of Toms River, was ultimately ID’d through fingerprints, sources told The Post.

Kawam, who was described as homeless, had slept on an F train in the Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island station on Dec. 22 when she was allegedly set on fire around 7:30 a.m. by illegal Guatemalan immigrant Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, who now faces first-degree murder charges.

Horrifying video footage from the arson attack shows the accused killer fanning the flames as Kawam was consumed by the fire — and calmly watching the scorched victim from a bench on the platform.

The identification surprised Tom Rivers resident Olga Corpion, who bought the house Kawam’s mother once lived in. Corpion said she received an unexpected visit from Kawam shortly after buying the house, which was listed as the victim’s last known address, in a quaint cul-de-sac dotted with one-story Cape Cod houses.

“She said, ‘Hi, my name is Debrina, and I want to go see my mom. My mother lives here. I want to talk to her,’” Corpion told The Post. “She looked like she was in her 50s, so right away I assumed she was not well, because she didn’t know her mom had moved.

“I’m in shock that she was standing right here and then I found out she died so horribly.”

Corpion said Kawam didn’t appear to be homeless, at least in May, as she appeared to have an Uber waiting for her during their short, 10-minute interaction.

“In my mind, I thought she had some from an assisted living facility,” Corpion said. “She was dressed fine. She did not look like somebody who was homeless.”

Another neighbor of the home, Valerie Waskiewicz, said she recalled two women living in the Toms River home. The younger woman, presumably Kawam, cared for the older one, she said.

“There are a lot of people caring for family members that are elderly, and their behavior was perfectly normal for what they did,” she said. “So this is an absolute shock to me. And if this is this woman, it’s horrible and I don’t know how this could have happened to her. She’s so far out of where she should have been, that this happened to her. It makes no sense.”

Sources said Kawam had been living in Big Apple shelters since at least Sept. 9. —>READ MORE HERE

Eric Adams pushes feds to charge migrant who torched woman to death on NYC subway — in sign he’s opening up sanctuary city to Trump admin:

Mayor Eric Adams is pushing the feds to charge the sadistic Guatemalan migrant who torched a woman to death on the subway – in the latest move he’s willing to open up the sanctuary city to the incoming Trump administration.

Federal arson charges against firebug Sebastian Zapete-Calil would be piled on top of local murder and arson charges against the illegal immigrant, who’s already facing at the hands of Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

“Like all New Yorkers, Mayor Adams is deeply disturbed by the heinous and depraved act that Sebastian Zapete-Calil is accused of,” City Hall spokeswoman Kayla Mamelak said.

“Lighting another human being on fire and watching them burn alive reflects a level of evil that cannot be tolerated,” Mamelak added.

“That is why, in coordination with Police Commissioner [Jessica] Tisch, Mayor Adams has directed the NYPD to work within our legal authority and in partnership with ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations team to explore criminal charges against Mr. Zapete-Calil under the federal arson statute.”

Although the Brooklyn DA’s office said it’s willing to “collaborate” with the feds, the local murder rap would result into a harsher sentence if a prosecutors win a conviction.

“Brooklyn prosecutors are prepared to pursue the most serious charges available under New York law, confident in the strength of our case, and committed to holding the alleged perpetrator fully accountable for this truly heinous murder,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

“Here, New York’s first-degree murder statute provides for a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole, greater than the sentence available for federal arson charges.” —>READ MORE HERE
