ICE, DEA arrest criminal illegal aliens on idyllic New England island:

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents in New England executed a joint operation on Nantucket, Massachusetts, to arrest “illegal criminal aliens” on Tuesday.

In a post on X, the DEA New England division said its agents assisted ICE and ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston with the arrests on the idyllic and posh summer vacation destination island situated 30 miles south of Cape Cod.

The Nantucket Current reported that the DEA confirmed it had arrested a man previously charged with kidnapping and domestic assault and battery, as well as a woman.

Authorities did not identify the suspects’ names or countries of origin.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the DEA for additional information.

In a statement to the publication, the acting special agent in charge of the DEA’s New England Field Division would only say it worked with its federal partners on immigration enforcement efforts.

Also assisting with the operation was the US Coast Guard, which reportedly took federal agents to Nantucket and back to the mainland with a suspect in tow.

The Town of Nantucket said in a press release that the Nantucket Police Department was contacted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and DEA about their plans to arrive at the island to serve an arrest warrant for a “violent offender.”

The federal agencies also requested assistance from Nantucket police, given their local geographical knowledge of the area.

DEA and ICE arrest “violent offender” and one other on-island:

Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Drug Enforcement Administration agents were on-island for a joint operation to arrest two alleged “criminal illegal aliens” Tuesday.

The federal agents, from the DEA’s New England division and ICE’s Boston Enforcement and Removal Operations office, traveled to the island to serve an administrative arrest warrant on a specific “violent offender,” according to a release from the Nantucket Police Department Tuesday.

The arrested individuals have not yet been named, but the DEA announced in a post on X that a male suspect who was arrested had previously been charged with domestic assault and battery and kidnapping.

A woman in handcuffs is also pictured in a photo released by the DEA, but no information about her was provided.

“The DEA, along with our Department of Justice partners, is assisting (Department of Homeland Security) and other federal law enforcement partners with their immigration enforcement efforts,” acting special agent in charge of the DEA’s New England field division, Stephen Belleau said in a statement Tuesday.

DEA spokesperson Kristen Govostes said no further information could be provided as of Wednesday.

Nantucket police “did assist with identifying requested addresses provided to them and transportation of the D.E.A.,” according to the release.

The agents were transported to the island via Coast Guard cutter.

Coast Guard Station Brant Point “supported logistics” for the operation, master chief Lance Wiser said, while Coast Guard Station Woods Hole “brought the team to Nantucket and returned with the detained individuals,” he said.

The operation marks the first arrests by ICE on-island since President Donald Trump took office in January and vowed to crack down on the country’s “migrant crisis.” —>READ MORE HERE
