IDF conducts counterterrorism operation in Tammun, West Bank
IDF special forces on Thursday morning sealed off a house in Tammun as part of the hunt for the terrorist responsible for killing Tzeela Gez, according to Palestinian media reports.
Recordings taken by Tammun residents and seen by Walla appear to show exchanges of gunfire around the residence.
An unidentified security source told Walla that the terrorist knew the area well, planned the escape in advance, and may have acted with assistance from others.
Searches are being carried out using personnel deployed to the area overnight, in parallel with proactive roadblocks and checking suspects, an IDF spokesperson added.
Protection of the settlements in the area has also been increased, reports noted, adding that similar activity is being carried out in other villages in the northern West Bank to rule out the possibility that the terrorist fled there.
What happened in the terror attack?
This follows a pregnant woman being killed in a terror attack in the West Bank on Wednesday night.
The victim was later identified as 30-year-old Tzeela Gez, who was on her way to deliver her fourth child.
This is a developing story.
