Media Frame Comey’s Trump Threat As ‘Conservative Uproar’ Over ‘Seashell Photo’

Former FBI Director James Comey is under investigation after he posted a photo of numerical notation that is associated with urging the assassination of President Donald Trump. Instead of criticizing Comey over the “8647” seashell arrangement he dubbed “cool,” corporate media tried to pretend that the Republicans investigating the post as a threat are the problem.

Politico’s big takeaway was that Comey “sparks Republican outrage.” CNN complained “conservative uproar” caused Comey to delete his post. Despite the post’s obvious hostility towards Trump, BBC deemed it a “seashell photo seen as threat to Trump.”

MSNBC went so far as to accuse Republicans of finding “an excuse to do what it’s long wanted to do: investigate James Comey.” The New York Times downplayed that investigation as “Over Social Media Post About Trump.”

Republicans have a right to be nervous about Comey’s incendiary beach picture. The “8647” code is often used by Trump haters to denote “opposition” to his presidency.

The Trump team warned in 2020 that the numerals could represent a call to “kill” the president. Even then, however, corporate media tried to help Democrats such as Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who touted the then “8645” paraphernalia, spin the slang as a food service term used to “refer to menu items that are no longer available” or “objectionable” customers. who should be removed from the restaurant.

Comey, no doubt, understood the implications of the phrase when he posted it along with the snarky caption, as his opposition to Trump is no secret.

As FBI director, Comey abused his authority to launch a “seriously flawed” probe into alleged collusion between Russia and Trump, even though there was no actual evidence to justify it. In addition to playing a key role in the Democrats’ Russia collusion hoax, Comey proudly supported Biden for president in 2020 and even worried with former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC about Trump weaponizing the government against his political enemies.

Instead of owning the post, however, the man who used to lead the nation’s self-proclaimed threat neutralizing agency claimed without blinking an eye that he never considered the violent implications of “8647.”

“I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message,” Comey wrote. “I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down.”

Comey’s post, reminiscent of other Democrat-led calls to violence, comes less than one year after Trump suffered not one, but two publicized assassination attempts.
