The Easiest Thing Republicans Can Do Right Now Is Find Out Who Was Running The Country For Four Years

0

On Sunday it was revealed that President Joe Biden has an aggressive form of prostate cancer — a diagnosis that likely was made in the early days of his presidency. The revelation comes on top of the quasi-reckoning taking place about the cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline. While Democrats and the propaganda press try to obscure their roll in the cover-up, Republicans need to get their boots dirty for once and start figuring out who was acting as president for four years.

A statement from Biden’s office said the president was diagnosed Friday with a “more aggressive form” of prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone. Dr. Zeke Emanuel said on Monday on MSNBC that it’s more likely Biden “had it while he was president.”

“He probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021,” Emanuel said. “He did not develop [cancer] in the last 100, 200 days.”

This isn’t just a story about a former president becoming sick. It’s a story about a White House that, for years, appears to have actively concealed both cognitive and physical incapacitation from the American public (with the help of the propaganda press). If Biden was in office while battling an aggressive cancer and cognitive decline, then the scope of the cover-up is even larger than we thought.

While there are a million questions — like who was actually making all the decisions for four years — that the left is desperately trying to let pass unanswered, there is one question that can and must be answered first:

“Is the GOP Congress going to start issuing subpoenas and deposing witnesses to determine who was illegally signing presidential orders while Biden’s medical condition was being hidden?” The Federalist’s CEO and co-founder Sean Davis asked in a post on X.

The answer to Davis’ question should be an easy yes.

Matt Walsh said in a post on X, “We need congress to actually do something finally. Full investigation. Pull every Biden staffer and official into a hearing. Put them under oath. Jill Biden too. His doctors. Everyone. Who was involved in this cover up? How deep did it go? And most importantly: who was actually running the country for the past four years? We must know.”

Attorney and podcaster Eric Matheny said, “Congress needs to act” because “the American people have a right to know when Biden’s cancer was first discovered and whether it was concealed during his presidency and during his reelection campaign.”

This is the one thing Republicans can do very easily because they control committees and committee assignments. No legislative action that could be roadblocked by Democrats or a few RINOs is needed to start issuing subpoenas or scheduling hearings — just political will. If Republicans are frustrated by Democratic obstruction, this is the one arena where they don’t need permission to act.

The Federalist’s Mark Hemingway suggested that, in light of the leak of the Hur Report audio that confirmed Biden was cognitively impaired, Congress ought to haul in former Attorney General Merrick Garland so he can be “made to explain to the nation why he did not release the Hur audio after it was subpoenaed by Congress.”

“His refusal was corrupt and traitorous, given what he knew about Biden’s condition.”

But Garland isn’t the only one who should be hauled in front of Congress. Jill Biden, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients (and his predecessor Ron Klain), the president’s personal physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre (and her predecessor Jen Psaki), Vice President Kamala Harris, any cabinet members, and any senior staff involved in national security decisions should be subpoenaed.

Republicans must ask each witness what he or she knew about Biden’s cognitive and physical health and when they knew it.

Once that’s out of the way, Congress is obligated to find out who was actually making the decisions — from drafting executive orders to directing foreign policy to pardoning thousands of people — when the president was clearly incapable of doing it himself.

Remember, when Democrats had control of Congress, they impeached President Trump for merely asking about the Biden family crime dealings. Now, with a mountain of evidence that Biden was likely not running the country for four years — making it the biggest scandal in American history — the bare minimum we should expect is hearings.

Otherwise, what’s the point in having a Republican Congress?
