Raising Them Right: This Baby’s First Word Was ‘Predestination’
ALBERT LEA, MN—While many Christian families are struggling to raise their children right in an increasingly antagonistic culture, that can’t be said of the Gunderson family.
Little Deanna Gunderson, just 9 months old, said her first word over the weekend: “predestination.”
Lots of babies don’t say their first real word until their first birthday, so the family was “over the moon” that their baby is ahead of the curve.
“We were all just sitting around reading the Institutes together, and Deanna piped up, pronouncing the word perfectly,” her father told reporters proudly. “We were so happy.” The man added that he was personally hoping her first word would be “presuppositionalism,” but he would accept “predestination” as consolation.
Not long after, the little one reportedly said her first sentence: “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”
At publishing time, the Gundersons had stated they’re 95% certain that the 9-month-old is one of God’s elect. “You will know them by their fruits.”
