Singh blasts Trudeau for copying BC NDP’s idea of calling a snap election in the middle of a pandemic
TORONTO – NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for stealing his party’s idea to call a snap election in the middle of a global pandemic.
“This needless power grab is exactly what the provincial wing of my party did 10 months ago,” said Singh. “Undermining successful cooperation between political parties in a minority parliament for a majority government is, and always has been, an NDP policy.”
He added that the Liberals always take credit for the NDP’s ideas whether it be free health care, universal pharmacare, or Machiavellian plots that will give one party leader complete control of the country for the next four years.
Singh also pointed to how much more of a risk the NDP took since a vaccine was not widely available at the time.
“Caring more about polls than people is a pie-lifted idea from John Horgan’s platform,” claimed the leader whose party is trailing in the polls.
At press time, Singh couldn’t recall which New Democratic federal leader was out canvassing with the BC NDP candidate in Burnaby last year.
