Manitoba Premier confident this moment of silence for Ukraine could use a story about her kid’s karate class

WINNIPEG – After using a question about a woman’s death as an excuse to talk about her son’s hockey team earlier this week, Premier thought it would be a good idea to interrupt a moment of silence for the Ukrainian People suffering from Russia’s invasion to talk about her child’s exploits.

“Obviously what’s going on in is terrible,” said Stefanson moments after everyone bowed their head. “But you know what’s not terrible: how many pieces of wood my little Cody was able to chop through on Sunday.”

“I think Ukrainians would want us to celebrate our kids’ getting a new trophy” she added.

Stefanson then proceeded to spend the moment of silence as well as the entire playing of the Ukrainian national anthem telling anyone within earshot about how Cody, 8, had done several roundhouse kicks, a “perfect” leg sweep, and had even won an award for ‘hardest worker’.

“If he keeps this up he’ll be a brown belt in no time,” she told one woman whose parents live in Kyiv.

The situation devolved after the Ukrainian ’s choir was drowned out by her shouting ‘Hiya’ while she demonstrated her son’s karate kicks.

After numerous attendees complained about the Premier using the tragedy to brag about her family Stefanson did issue a heartfelt apology. However she did interrupt her own apology several times to mention her daughter’s 4th place finish in a recent Spelling Bee.
