Kid Helpfully Mentions He Has Massive Science Project Due In 5 Minutes
HARRISON, AR — A local mother was quick to express her gratitude to her young son after the boy helpfully made it known that he had an incredibly important school science project that was due in the next five minutes.
“Thanks for giving me a heads-up, son,” said Sallie Moon as she packed her son’s lunch. “Now all I have to do is hear what this project is supposed to be about, help you come up with a presentation, figure out what we need, buy all the supplies, and build it before we get to school. I really appreciate you letting me know.”
The boy, Wes Moon, knew he had done his mother a great service. “I knew you would want plenty of notice, Mom,” Wes said. “I wasn’t going to leave you high and dry to get totally blindsided by the project, so I wanted to be sure you knew it would be due as soon as I get to school in a few minutes.”
Wes’s mother then began the herculean task of determining what could be found strewn around the house that could be used to construct an illustrative depiction of the solar system.
At publishing time, Wes was reportedly only two minutes late to class but arrived with a fully constructed solar system made out of pillows, paper plates, and balled-up socks.
