Fisher-Price Smartphone Toy Teaches Children To Screen All Calls Assuming It’s Debt Collectors
EAST AURORA, NY—Describing the new product as a fun way to help infants and toddlers reach a key cognitive milestone, Fisher-Price released an updated toy smartphone Thursday that teaches children to screen all calls and assume they’re coming from debt collectors. “The latest iteration of our Laugh and Learn smartphone toy fosters both the social awareness and fine motor skills needed to make sure collection agencies are sent straight to voicemail,” read a press release from the iconic toy brand, which touted the 12 different ringtones children can choose from to better filter out calls from the loan departments, repossession agents, and various other debt collectors they will inevitably encounter as they grow up. “Watch as baby pretends to use a smartphone like Mommy and Daddy and learns to avoid phone calls from financial institutions by pressing the bright-red angry face on the ignore button. Plus, it’s a great way to entertain your toddler after the repo man has hauled away the TV on which they used to watch Cocomelon.” Fisher-Price is also reportedly at work on an update of its Laugh and Learn kitchen play set that will feature a peephole and a door chain lock to teach babies how to better avoid debt collectors who show up at the door.
