PLANO, TX—Puzzled by the revelation that the famous rapper was one of 34 people the woman followed on the social media app, sources confirmed Monday that it was unclear if local mother Teresa Poletti was intentionally following Machine Gun Kelly on Instagram. “Huh, I mean, he’s engaged to Megan Fox, so maybe that’s why, but I don’t know if Mom’s ever even seen Transformers,” said Alivia Cook, Poletti’s daughter, who scrolled through the rapper’s page as she attempted to deduce whether her mother was a genuine fan of Machine Gun Kelly or had just accidentally clicked the follow button one day and never figured out how to unfollow. “I guess she could technically be a fan. The only other celebrity she follows is Julianne Hough, though, so I don’t know. Maybe she thinks he’s one of her nephews? He does kind of look like Garrett.” At press time, Cook had directly asked Poletti why she was following Machine Gun Kelly, and her mother responded, “I’ve never heard that name in my entire life.”
