Authorities Demolish House That Was Site Of Horrific Marriage
FALMOUTH, ME—Saying the residence evoked far too many painful memories to be left standing, Maine authorities confirmed Tuesday they had demolished the house at 231 Pinelock Lane that was once the site of a horrific marriage. “When that terrible marriage first struck this town, it was like a nightmare come to life—we have enough awful reasons to remember it without this structure staring us in the face every day,” police chief Tim Reynolds said of the two-story Cape-style home, which had been left vacant for years, reportedly haunting residents with reminders of the near-daily arguments over finances and crushed dreams that had once emanated from its windows. “What happened here was so deeply disturbing. We’re talking about former high school sweethearts who slowly wore each other down into shells of what they once were through bitterness and spite. That happened in every single room of this place. And I’m not even getting into the poor kid who lost his sense of innocence here. Really terrible stuff. It’s time to move on.” At press time, residents contended that even after the demolition, they could still hear the sounds of “You fucking ruined my life” faintly echoing from the empty lot.
