Dakota Johnson Hoping She Doesn’t Get Any ‘Madame Web’ Questions At ‘Madame Web’ Press Event

LOS ANGELES—Wondering aloud why people seemed to be so obsessed with her involvement in the Sony Pictures–produced Marvel spinoff, actress Dakota Johnson told reporters Tuesday that she hoped she wouldn’t get any Madame Web questions at a Madame Web press event. “I don’t get it—just because I starred in a multimillion-dollar film that I’m currently traveling the world to promote doesn’t give people the right to constantly ask me about the film,” said Johnson, adding that for the past few weeks, every question she’d fielded at Madame Web press junkets, events, and premieres had been about starring in the superhero film. “Sadly, as an actress, I find it pretty insulting to be asked my thoughts on the franchise, or what it was like to bring the character of Madame Web to life. Why don’t they ever ask me about anything else? I was in those Fifty Shades movies, for God’s sake.” As the press event began, Johnson told reporters she would only be fielding questions about how much she hated her co-stars and what it was like growing up in Hollywood as a nepo baby.
