Biggest Prize On Eastern European Game Show Apparently Fridge
CHIŞINĂU, MOLDOVA—After turning on the TV in her hotel room and immediately becoming engrossed in Moldova’s most popular program, tourist Jessica Nevins confirmed Thursday that the biggest prize on an Eastern European game show was apparently a fridge. “While I don’t totally understand what’s going on, I do know the audience went absolutely wild when the host wheeled out the prizes, which included an old Samsung flip phone, a TV with a built-in VCR, and the most expensive item, a refrigerator,” said Nevins, adding that the fridge, which was flanked by two models wearing evening gowns, was oddly small, had a visible dent in it, and could not have cost more than 200 euros. “After watching it for half an hour, I still couldn’t tell what the object of the game was, but at some point the host, who had a potbelly, did several spins and began to ring a bell. Then the winning contestant began to cry, confetti rained from the ceiling, and they ran over and hugged the fridge for a really long time.” At press time, a confused Nevins added that losers on the show seemed to receive several punishments, which included being put in a cage with a wolf and being slapped in the face with a fish by a child.
