British Science Museum Forced To Return Fire Exhibit Originally Plundered From The Gods
LONDON—In an effort to correct the imperial power’s past wrongs, London’s Science Museum was reportedly forced Wednesday to return the fire exhibit originally plundered from the gods. “After extensive negotiations with the deities, we are proud to announce that fire will soon be returned to its rightful home on Mount Olympus,” said museum spokesperson Anne Sheridan of the move that British officials hoped would ultimately strengthen the country’s diplomatic ties with Zeus. “We choose to return this fire voluntarily as a show of goodwill, and apologize on behalf of the colonial-era Titan who looted it. This fire is a cultural artifact that has indelible significance to the gods, and it belongs to them, not to the British.” At press time, Sheridan added that they were technically returning the fire on a long-term loan.
