Taylor Swift Under Fire For Leaving Idling Plane Double-Parked Outside Store
NEW YORK—Drawing intense criticism from climate activists over her enormous carbon footprint, Taylor Swift reportedly came under fire Monday after aviation journalists located her idling plane double-parked outside a Manhattan store. “Taylor Swift’s reliance on gas-guzzling private jets continued today when she burned over 200 gallons of fuel traveling to a nearby Burberry,” said environmentalist Ned Lawry, pulling up surveillance footage from the area that showed the pop singer’s Dassault Falcon 7X landing beside a row of cars on Fifth Avenue, where she left it double-parked as she moseyed around inside the store for nearly 45 minutes with the jet engines still running. “Clearly the rules don’t apply to her. There was no need for her to fly private for the 30-second trip from her Tribeca home other than to flaunt her wealth. It doesn’t matter if she was just popping inside to pick up an order or shopping for an hour. It’s really inconsiderate—not only to waste so much of a finite resource, but also to block in 18 cars while you run an errand. In addition, she could have waited to empty out the toilet tank until she got home and turned off the ignition.” At press time, Taylor Swift was being called tone deaf once again for using 13,000 liters of California’s limited water supply to hose down the 20 Hummers in her Beverly Hills driveway.
