‘I Don’t Really Care, Margaret’ Merchandise Sales Expected To Exceed $1 Billion Annually
U.S. — Meme-related revenue was predicted to hit an all-time high by the end of the year, as industry experts revealed “I don’t really care, Margaret” merchandise sales were expected to exceed $1 billion annually.
As soon as the new meme-worthy quote dropped during Vice President JD Vance’s interview with CBS News reporter Margaret Brennan, merchandise companies launched full-speed into the production of t-shirts, bumper stickers, coffee mugs, and more. Some analysts predicted the new “I don’t really care, Margaret” merch would blow away records previously set by “Let’s go, Brandon” products in late 2021.
“This stuff is going to make billions,” said online merch vendor Dale Hollingsworth. “It can be applied to every facet of life. Not just politics, but marriage, sports, everyday conversation… it’s transcendent. By 2027, we’re expecting everyone to be wearing an ‘I don’t really care, Margaret’ shirt. You can get yours on my website now for just $19.99, by the way. We’ve got about twelve styles and colors.”
Industrious merch sellers were looking forward to whatever else the new Trump-Vance administration might have in store in the next four years. “JD Vance is a meme goldmine,” Hollingsworth said. “We need to have someone who just follows him around 24-7 writing down stuff he says because the guy is a meme machine. He’s going to make me rich. America will enter a new Golden Age based on meme merch alone.”
At publishing time, early sales figures on the merch were reportedly dominated by men whose wives were actually named “Margaret.”
