Faux Pas: Man Gets Wife Something for Mother’s Day Even Though She’s Not His Mother
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Local man Jacob Masterson committed an embarrassing faux pas this morning when he gave his wife a present for Mother’s Day even though she is not his mother.
Though his wife Julie tried to play it off, the awkwardness in the room was palpable as she uncomfortably took the gift from the man who was in no way her offspring.
“What an idiot,” said neighbor Dan Billings upon hearing of the incident. “That is so humiliating for Jacob. How on earth do you accidentally buy a present for your wife? It’s literally called ‘Mother’s Day.’ His wife Julie looks nothing like his mom at all. So dumb.”
According to witnesses, Masterson immediately became aware of his blunder after handing his wife the gift, but the damage had been done. “Oh man have I beclowned myself,” said Masterson. “This is mortifying. I don’t know how to come back from this, it’s so cringey.”
At publishing time, Masterson had sheepishly asked his wife if he could have the present back so he could give it to his mom.
