In a game where the objective for a batter is to make contact and successfully get on base with a hit, this simpleton was unable to complete that task an astounding 70% of the time, which means he was absolutely horrible in well over half of his chances. Ridiculous.
You may be feeling down on yourself and struggling to achieve success in your life or your chosen career, but chances are you’re WAY better at what you do than this wannabe baseball player. Nice try, Mr. I-Can-Only-Get-It-Done-Three-Times-Out-Of-Ten.
Word has it this guy even took a break right in the middle of his playing career to give it a shot in the military. Probably because he made an out in over two-thirds of his at-bats. And this guy had the gall to accept praise from so-called “experts” who try to claim that he was some all-time great player. Whatever.
So, the next time you feel like you’re a failure at your job — cheer up! Things could be a lot worse. It may help to pause every now and then and consider the plight of this pitiful example of what happens when someone just isn’t competent enough to succeed more than 30% of the time.
